Lisa's Family Endorsement

Kerisse & Ronald at a
birthday celebration for Lisa
As younger brother to the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes of the record-breaking group TLC, I am excited to express my unwavering support for Kerisse Hutchinson and her play which is currently titled "2 The Left: A Tribute of the Life of Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes". Kerisse has done an amazing job of capturing elements of Lisa's personality and creating a theatrical production. She has put all her heart and passion into her work.
Since her tragic and untimely death in 2002, there have been many attempts to share Lisa's story with the world however they have all been centered around the woman as a member of the multi-Platinum selling group as opposed to her life in totality, including all aspects of her life and not just those related to music and entertainment.
Because of this reason, I believe Kerisse's play will, at last, let the world get to know the authentic Lisa Lopes, thus continuing her legacy and her message of maintaining a healthy body, mind, and soul.
I first met Kerisse in 2013 when she contacted me about the project. I could see immediately that she had the talent and interpersonal skills for working with people and getting things done. As we worked together over the years, I realized I was right. During our initial conversation, I told Kerisse if she really wanted to know who Lisa was then she should go to Honduras as Lisa felt that was her utopia. I have proposed this to numerous people in the past but no one took advantage of the opportunity as they felt it was not needed to capture the real essence of my sister. They were wrong. When I invited Kerisse to go, she took me up on my invitation the following year which made me view her as a serious creator who was actually interested in getting the real story and experiencing it herself. She is authentic with a high level of integrity...just what has been missing.
Over the past several years, I have been impressed by her enthusiastic dedication to continuously involve and reach out to my family and Lisa's closest friends for research and insight, determined to help create an authenticity for her artistic vision.
After working with Kerisse, I can confidently tell you, there is no one I feel is more dependable, loyal, and hard-working than her with a vision and determination to convey my sister's story. Her extensive research and continual enthusiasm, motivation, and dedication to telling Lisa's story is met with encouragement and support from not only myself, but also by other members of my family as well as those that worked closely with Lisa on a day-to-day basis.
It has been demonstrated multiple times that stories and messages like Lisa's are needed, especially nowadays with so many people feeling discriminated against, disenfranchised, and basically hopeless in regards to our future. Lisa's testimony of survival and optimism in the face of unmentionable adversity and tragedy is something every person in this country, in this world, could benefit from.
We are pleased to offer Kerisse our continued support during the development and execution of her project about our beloved Lisa. She has proven herself time and again to be an invaluable asset. In my humble opinion, Kerisse is exactly the type of person able to execute a project such as this and reach audiences across the globe.
Sincerely,

Ronald Lopes
