Biography

Kerisse Hutchinson is a multi-talented, bi-coastal, award winning actress of Bajan and Jamaican heritage raised in Queens, New York. Studying at Towson University, Magna Cum Laude, and training at The Alvin Ailey School she began choreographing and dancing with numerous companies and music artists.
While recovering from a dance injury she began devoting herself full-heartedly to acting. Kerisse won the Best Actress Award at the Harlem International Film Festival for her heart-wrenching portrayal of Simisola in the award-winning feature film, “August the First” and starred in the hip-hop musical, “Honey Bo and the Goldmine”at the prestigious, La Jolla Playhouse where she showcased her acting, dancing, singing, and rapping talents!
Other credits include: SyFy Channel’s “Rise of the Zombies” opposite Levar Burton also starring Mariel Hemingway and Danny Trejo; the Paramount/BET drama “Dough Boys”, the outrageous comedy “The Janky Promoters” starring Ice Cube and Mike Epps; “24 Hour Love” with Lynn Whitfield, Tatyana Ali and Malinda Williams; the recurring role of Chantal, the High School mean girl, on “All My Children,”; and guest starring roles on “The Defenders,” “Law & Order: SVU,” “The Whole Truth,” and “Rescue Me.”
While embarking on her young career, Kerisse has founded the nonprofit company GuiDANCE Autism, Inc., bringing the joy of dance to children with special needs –giving back the gift once given to her. www.GuiDANCEAutism.com
